Photo Opportunity in Harmondsworth on Tue 16th Dec

The local Hillingdon Herald newspaper is launching a new campaign called "Back the Blockers”, a play on the Government’s ‘back the builders’ slogan and relating to the third runway, in conjunction with Balcony Shirts in Uxbridge.

John McDonnell MP, David Simmonds MP and Lord John Randall have already been pictured wearing the t-shirts and will be featured on the front page of this month’s paper.

Back the Blockers

Consequently, I am arranging a photo opportunity on Harmondsworth Village Geen at 3.00pm on Tuesday 16th December 2025 where residents can be pictured holding up the front page of the newspaper alongside people wearing the new T-shirt. Please spread the word amongst your contacts to let them know to gather on Harmondsworth Village Green at 3.00 on Tuesday the 16th.

The paper also includes a new petition, which has been launched by the paper on the Brunel University campus today, to oppose Heathrow expansion.

Copies of the paper will be available on the day to take away and distribute locally. Please let me know if you would like a small supply so I can ask the Hillingdon Herald team to bring some down on the 16th.
