'Jet Zero' Council announced by Government

Reacting to the announcement by transport secretary Grant Shapps at the Government’s daily news conference, of the formation of a new “jet-zero” council to aid an environmentally friendly recovery for the aviation sector post-Covid-19, Geraldine Nicholson from Stop Heathrow Expansion said:

“Whilst this is an encouraging announcement, it is vital that this Council must truly represent environmental groups, and include those such as the Aviation Environment Federation, that have been campaigning on green aviation issues, and not just the usual industry-led organisations. We look forward to seeing the make-up of this new Council.”
