S.H.E has launched. On the 13th of November in Harmonsworth church local people came out in force to stand up to Heathrow’s bulling tactics and intimidation to say Stop Heathrow Expansion. The night included three short films from the No If’s No Buts video competition run by Zac Goldsmith earlier this year. Presentations on pollution, heritage and the distraction the airport will cause, as well as a few words from politicians from different parties urging this airport to stop expanding. British Airways CEO Willie Walsh has said that Britain’s political class lacks the character required to push for a third runway and says Heathrow expansion is a “lost cause”.

The Airports Commission, which the Government set up to look at airport expansion in London and the South East,  ruled out an Estuary Airport on 2nd September.  That leaves just a 3rd runway at Heathrow and a 2nd runway at Gatwick on the agenda.  The Commission’s final report is due in about a year’s time.
