SHE Takes Off

SHE has launched. On the 13th of November in Harmonsworth church local people came out in force to stand up to Heathrow’s bulling tactics and intimidation to say Stop Heathrow Expansion. The night included three short films from the No If’s No Buts video competition run by Zac Goldsmith earlier this year. Presentations on pollution, heritage and the distraction the airport will cause, as well as a few words from politicians from different parties urging this airport to stop expanding. Here are what some local Residents had to say about the evening.

Residents and local politicians rub shoulders in the pews

St Mary's Church in Harmondsworth has brought people together for centuries, its walls have witnessed great joy and great loss. They have  provided sanctuary and helped to bring peace to those in need through troubled times. How apt then this week that it was the venue for the launch of SHE, the Stop Heathrow Expansion group. This beautiful church saw people from far afield unite with local residents in a combined show of strength. Everyone was determined to see that political promises of ‘No Expansion’ are upheld. Supporters are growing in numbers as bonds spanning many counties are formed to ensure our quality of life, health, heritage and peace are preserved for ever.
