Plane Stupid Activists Close Heathrow Runway

It has been reported that about 12 activists from the anti-airport expansion group Plane Stupid have chained themselves to a metal triangle of fences on Heathrow’s northern runway, forcing its closure.

As of 8.30am SHE is just becoming aware, though BBC online news, of this latest direct action.

SHE is a campaigning organisation and is not involved with illegal direct action. However, we do understand why people opposed to airport expansion are being pushed to take drastic measures to highlight the serious issues that they feel are not being considered adequately by the government.
